No denying statistics on drug overdoses

-

When political operatives like David Welch send letters to the editor as if he has no political agenda, people should be wary and watch the very blue bouncing ball. Mr. Welch worked closely with ex-Super Delegate, Bob Mulholland, and is out front of any Democratic Socialists of America/Club activity such as the recall attempt.

Welch recently wrote two letters. One opined Lucero and Ritter are the hardest working supervisors; a blatant attempt to have readers ignore that both support the Brown New Deal and free needle giveaway, which brought encampments in our parks, trash, dirty needles, and overdoses in our community. The actual ‘work’ both did is for their political ideology and obstructive to the will of the citizens; they are non-responsive to anyone not from their party.

His second letter stated the needle issue was a sham because that same needle program, supported by Alex

Brown, Tami Ritter, and Debra Lucero, is operating and “no one talks about it.” Apparently we should all ignore our “lying eyes” on needles found and discount recent statistics about a huge spike in overdose deaths locally. Just because Welch doesn’t see something, doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. Many people find needles and share photos and call 911 when addicts are overdosed with needles hanging out of their arms.

Don’t be bamboozled by Operative Welch. Vote smarter by voting Peter Durfee or Mary Murphy-Waldorf for Supervisor; they aren’t climate hypocrites and aren’t proponents of encampments or needles, rather they are pro-treatment and accountability.
