In the upcoming election for Butte County Assessor there is one candidate, Alyssa Douglass, who is eminently qualified to carry on the good work of the department and that of current Assessor, Diane Brown. In my years in office

(as Assessor), I observed Alyssa Douglass to be an outstanding contributor to the appraisal and administrative team. She is highly knowledgeable, experienced, equitable and professional. She confidently understands the operation of the department and she, along with the excellent staff, is committed to serving the public with prompt, personal and professional attention.

The Assessor must possess a seasoned understanding of appraisal practices and procedures but there is more to it than that. They are also the chief assessment standards officer of the department and therefore the government of Butte County. They must have a thorough working knowledge of the Revenue and Taxation Code and its complexities. Alyssa Douglass has this understanding and the citizens of Butte County will be wellserved in knowing their newlyelected Assessor will ensure continuance of the best in public service.
