Palermo fire detroys one outbuilding, damages one storage container
PALERMO » The cause of a vegetation fire that burned off of Railbridge Road and Evita Way in Palermo is being investigated after destroying one outbuilding, a storage container and threatening several structures on Sunday, according to a CAL FIRE and Butte County Fire Department press release prepared by Fire Captain Jacob Gilliam.
The incident was reported at 10:36 a.m. and was 100% contained by 3:30 p.m., said Giliam.
Strong winds grew the fire to 10.5 acres, however firefighters, CAL FIRE and Butte County firefighters arrived at the scene quickly and deployed hose lines, two additional fire engines and a dozer towards the threatened structures, said the release.
In total, 19 total personnel were assigned to the incident and no fatalities were reported.
