Chico cheer

The Chico Cheer All-Stars took two of its teams to the D2 Summit in Orlando, FL., the nation’s pinnacle event for AllStar cheer and were deemed finalists for both its junior Glitz and senior Blackout teams. CCAS qualified for the second day of the competition Sunday, guaranteeing the Glitz top 18out of 40-plus teams nationally and Blackout a top 12out of 20-plus. Blackout and Glitz placed 9th in the gym’s first appearance at Summit since 2018. These year-round athletes were 1of 2 California representatives in the junior division’s top 12, with both teams competing against teams from Florida, Iowa, Minnesota, Mississippi, Maine, Pennsylvania, New York, Utah and Texas.
