Douglass endorsed by current Assessor

-

It has been an honor to serve the taxpayers of Butte County as the Assessor. I could not be prouder of the staff that worked diligently to serve the public during our many challenges with the disasters plaguing the county. Although there are three candidates vying for the position, only one was worthy of my endorsement.

Alyssa Douglass is the best choice to lead the department. She is not only an Air Force veteran but has dedicated the last 18 years to serving the public in the assessor’s office. She developed our current training program and successfully trained seven of our last eight appraisers, while also completing an appraisal assignment and supervising an appraisal crew.

The unsuccessful appraiser — they were trained by one of the other candidates.

Assessors in small and medium-sized counties are required to perform duties just like the staff. There is no time to train a department head. As the Assessor, I personally completed over 8,000 appraisals during my term. Alyssa completed just as many. One of the other candidates completed less than half as much during the same period.

Don’t fall for the empty rhetoric of a discarded politician who has no idea what the job duties entail or a disgruntled former employee devoid of a work ethic. The office needs someone dedicated to public service. Elect Alyssa Douglass for Butte County Assessor.
