Vote Lucero, Ritter — support good government

-

I just retired after serving 22 years as the Butte County Counsel. I have seen how government works from the inside. Government works best when the elected officials have frank, open, honest discussions on important issues during public meetings. Over those 22 years not all elected officials I have worked with agreed with this view.

During the past three years I have observed Supervisors Debra Lucero and Tami Ritter display the qualities necessary for good governance. They want details and full disclosure of the facts on matters brought before the Board of Supervisors. They engage in vigorous debate whether they are in the majority or minority on an issue. They speak up for their constituents needs and concerns.

I reside in Supervisor Lucero’s district and will be voting for her in the upcoming election. I also support Supervisor Ritter. They are two “public servants” that take that term to heart. Butte County will be well served to elect both for a second term on the Board of Supervisors.
