Former supervisor says she’s supporting Lucero

-

Having served for eight years on the Chico City Council and 12 years on the Butte County Board of Supervisors, I have worked with many public servants. Most were good, some were great, and a few were excellent.

Supervisor Debra Lucero definitely fits the excellent category. Her preparation, work ethic and response to constituents is exemplary. She researches all issue extensively. Her Facebook page is full of pertinent information.

I would suggest that everyone, even her detractors, sign up for her page. There is always much to learn from her page, whether it is water, development, behavioral health, social services and more. She keeps her constituents informed.

During board deliberation, she has always brought up relevant points for consideration and this is reflected in some changes to motions. Her constructive criticism is appreciated by her constituents.

The best thing about our government is that different points of view are considered before laws are passed or actions are taken. If the Board of Supervisors was all in lockstep, we may not hear other opinions. In fact, if everyone had the identical philosophy, we would only need one board member instead of five. Our county is better when different viewpoints are heard.

Debra Lucero serves our county with intelligence and heart. She serves on many government committees, attends many community and non-profit events and makes herself visible and approachable. I cannot emphasize enough how hard working, considerate, empathetic, and intelligent she is.

Re-elect Debra Lucero. Butte County deserves the best.
