Chico State graduation ceremonies begin this week

CHICO » Starting Thursday, soon-to-be Chico State fgraduates will be donning their caps, gowns and accessorie­s to get their degrees before an audience of family and friends.

The graduation will take place over four days, with Thursday kicking it off with the college of communicat­ion and education at 7 p.m.

Friday’s ceremony begins at 9 a.m. and will be for the colleges of business, engineerin­g, computer science, constructi­on management and agricultur­e. Saturday will cover behavioral and social sciences which will be broken up into two ceremonies at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. respective­ly. The final ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday and will host the colleges of humanities, fine arts and natural sciences.

Ceremonies will be held at Chico State’s University Stadium located at 400 W. First St. in Chico.

Because of COVID-19, there are still some health and safety guidelines that will be in place for the ceremonies. While proof of vaccinatio­n and negative tests are not required, the school recommends that participan­ts get vaccinated against the virus. Additional­ly, masks and face coverings are optional.
