Privacy intrusions

-

The apparent intent of the Supreme Court to strike down Roe v. Wade will usher in an era of appalling intrusions on our rights. Not only is the right to access safe medical care in peril but so are freedom of speech, the right to practice one’s own religion and freedom to travel.

Ever wondered about how the anti-abortion laws will work? If we order “Plan B” pills through the mail, will postal inspectors be required to open the packages and report names of recipients to the police? If someone miscarries and her fetus dies, must she and her doctor be hauled into court? What will happen to a pregnant woman traveling across state lines to obtain medical care? Will she have to be interrogated?

And what if an angry exboyfriend lodges a false accusation of having an abortion against someone? How in the world is she going to prove she is innocent of the charge?

The right to privacy touches everyone. Cast your vote with this in mind.
