Rutledge, Gallaway get senior net title

The Butte Creek Senior Men’s Club monthly tournament was a two-day, Member-Guest. The first day was a one best-ball, including lunch, and the second day was a scramble, including breakfast and lunch, followed by the awards presentati­on.

The overall net winner, by a scant 0.30 points, was the team of Joe Gallaway and Mike Rutledge with a score of 127.58. The overall gross winner was the team of Steve Haws and Scott Mraule with a score of 139. First flight net: 1, Kevin Milliken and Craig Gurney, 131.53; 2, Mark Blofsky and Ray Block, 135.54; 3, Dick Brooks and Ed Anderson, 137.04. Second flight net: 1, Ben Heerema and Art Gausemel, 127.88; 2, Mike Loofbourro­w and Lou Sanchez, 136.62; 3, Don Batie and Jim Gaumer, 140.74.

The Butte Creek Women’s

Club is holding a Two Day, “Pick Your Partner 6-6-6” format for its tournament. The final round will be played Thursday. The current standings find the team of Debbie Maderos and Sherri Kimmelshue leading in the first flight. The team of Pam Miller and Karen Beckman are on top in the second flight. Both teams

are ahead by the slimmest of margins.

Chico-Paradise SIR’s Golf Club

The Chico-Paradise SIR’s Golf Club played a scramble format, with a twist, for its semimonthl­y tournament. A two-man team joined forces with another twoman team and combined their two scramble scores, called, “1+1=1,” according to its guru, Darrell Hands.

Tracie Cvitkovich found her name on top of the leader board in the gross category in the Table Mountain Women’s Golf Club weekly tournament with a nice round of 84. Sherry Sue earned low net

honors shooting one under her handicap with a score of 71.

The game was “T.O.E.” counting only the holes beginning with those letters. First flight game: 1, Janett Ott, 36; 2, Dana Blanton, 36.5; 3, Sally Stemen, 37. Second flight: 1, Kris McGee, 38.5; 2, JoAnn Jircitano, 43, cardoff; 3, Karen Scurlock, 43. Third flight: 1, Mary Haloski, 35; 2, Terry Chambers, 39.5; 3, Elaine Thomas, 43. Closest to the pin on No.12: Blanton.

Canyon Oaks Country Club

The Canyon Oaks Women’s Club counted the nine easiest stroke holes for its weekly game, subtractin­g one-half a player’s handicap.

Nancy Vieira was low gross with a score of 93. Low net: Vickie Spelts, 69. Game: 1, Joan Wagoner, 25.5; 2, Spelts, 28; 3, Bonnie Seely, 29.5. Closest to pin on No. 14: 1, Wagoner; 2, Cynthia Paulo.

Spectacula­r shots

Lee Watrous aced the 6th hole, over the water, at Canyon Oaks last week. Watrous selected his 7-iron for his perfect 142-yard, tee shot, as witnessed by his playing companions Gayland Taylor, Norm Hughart and Tim Lehor.
