Semitrailer also burns on Highway 149; Red Flag warning for north state
OROVILLE » Firefighters battled two vegetation fires on Wednesday — one, when a commercial water semitrailer that was headed northbound on Highway 149 became completely engulfed in flames and later the Evita Fire which burned roughly 17 acres in Palermo.
The burning vehicle was first reported around 1:38 p.m., said Rick Carhart, Cal Fire-Butte County public information officer. The vegetation fire that spread from the vehicle spread about half an acre at most.
Although the status of the person driving the vehicle was not available, there had been no reports for medical need, Carhart said. There were also no road closures reported for the fire.

By 4:31 p.m., the warning was lifted. Although one home had been threatened during the fire, no injuries had been reported since 5:30 p.m., Carhart said.
