Don’t be fooled by Lucero claims

-

What I love about campaign season is watching politicians frantically trying to rebrand themselves right before an election. The most comical one to watch right now is Debra Lucero.

Since she was first elected in 2018, she’s been a mouthpiece for fringe Butte County environmentalists. But now she’s running a campaign to make you believe she’s some centrist independent-minded leader. Here’s a refresher course for those that need it:

Lucero opposed building infrastructure projects needed to help the Town of Paradise rebuild.

Lucero opposed making it easier to build affordable housing in Chico.

Lucero opposed removing the homeless from public spaces and suggested turning the Chico Mall into a homeless shelter.

Lucero has gone to war with local farmers on several issues. She claims to be a champion of keeping our water local but voted to sell water behind Oroville Dam to Southern California!

Lastly, Lucero has treated the county budget like her own personal piggy bank. She travels from city to city across the country attending fancy junkets on our dime. Flights, hotels, meals … taxpayers always pick up the tab.

She even hired her husband to work in her office where he collected $58,000 in salary and benefits. How is that even allowed?

Don’t fall for the Democrat party funded political spin folks, Lucero is far from a common sense moderate.

Vote Peter Durfee the second your ballot arrives in the mail.
