The town of Paradise, along with the Paradise Unified School District and Pacific Gas and Electric Co., celebrated a unique accomplishment Thursday related to the town’s Camp Fire recovery.

Town officials and district officials celebrated the completion of the safe routes to school project on Pentz Road in front of Paradise Ridge Elementary School.

The road work included improved walkability, bikeability and the overall road safety on the way to the school. The project included added center turn lines and sidewalks.

The town also celebrated that the section of Pentz Road has fully undergrounded utilities and no longer has overhead cables and utility poles along the road.

Both of those and improvements along Pentz Road fit into the improved school on Pentz Road that the district unveiled in August,

which included revamped classrooms, a brand-new administration

building with an amphitheater and new multipurpose room.
