Avoiding ‘crazy train’ of right-wing news

- — David Fundakowski, Chico

Loretta Anne Torres wants us to abandon reputable factbased reporting from network news, major newspapers and news services such as AP, Reuters, and their European counterparts and join the Crazy Train of Radical Rightwing Lies, misinformation and unreported news, such as from Fox News, Steve Bannon, Glenn Beck and NewsMax.

ME: Only if I need a chuckle.

A few examples of the Crazy they’ve dispensed/amplified or facts not reported:

A $40B wall on the southern border, routinely being defeated by either ladders or metal-cutting band saws when out-of-sight, is a great idea.

COVID vaccines don’t work/ will swell your testicles/make you shake uncontrollably/die suddenly of a heart attack … (fact: as the nation became more vaccinated, Covid death rates in conservative areas significantly outpaced those in liberal areas. — way to “own the libs,” LOL)

Regular testicle tanning is needed to counteract decreased testosterone. (Doc didn’t mention this; you’d think tanning salons would be offering Valentine’s Day specials.)

COVID virus can’t be filtered out by a piece of cloth. (Funny, just a single layer of paper makes my morning coffee crystal clear.)

I could go on and on. In fact, I think I will. Watch for Crazy Train Part II.

These are just a few examples of the literally insane ‘news’ items and positions routinely distributed or promoted on extreme right-wing media. Belief of any significant amount of this swill is a sign of either extreme gullibility or stupidity. Nothing similar is found on reputable media sources.
