The celebration of the female intimate area is returning to Chico State this weekend.

The Vagina Monologues, which hasn’t been performed at Chico State since 2019, is returning and being presented by the Gender and Sexuality Equity Coalition at Chico State.

“The Gender and Sexuality Equity Coalition is excited to be bringing back our annual The Vagina Monologues performances for the first time since prior to the pandemic. This show is sure to make everyone in the audience laugh, cry, feel empowered, and even learn a few things. Anyone is welcome to come watch,” said Gender and Sexuality Intern and Stage Manager Maya K. Danek.

The performances are at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. today at Rowland Taylor Recital Hall (Performing Arts Center 134.) Tickets will be sold at the door for $15. Tickets are $10 for students. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.chicostatetickets.com and there is an $8 processing fee.

Proceeds from The Vagina Monologues 2023 production will be distributed among the Gender & Sexuality Equity Coalition, Catalyst Domestic Violence services, and Women’s Health Specialists, according to a press release.

This year’s production is directed by Shirley Erna Brill, Demondra Martin and Elise the Destroyer.
