New building on site of brewery set to produce energy drinks
Organic energy drink brand Riot Energy has joined forces with Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
The energy drinks, which hail from Venice, California, are non-alcoholic and will be produced and packaged at Sierra Nevada’s new 85,000 square foot facility called the CanDo Innovation Center. The company announced it nailed down a minority investment from Sierra Nevada Thursday. The facility will begin operating in summer 2023.
Sierra Nevada launched a successful path for craft beer among its major audiences. Riot Energy is challenging big energy drink brands like Monster with its more natural energy drinks.
“This partnership accelerates our planned disruption of the $12 billion traditional energy drink market,” said Riot Energy Founder and Chief Noisemaker Laura Jakobsen. “Consumers are underserved by the big beverage brands. We are creating a different, more crafted choice to be energized with the simpler, cleaner ingredients consumers are demanding, yet current category brand leaders aren’t trusted to deliver.”
Sierra Nevada is ensuring its strategy for sustainable growth by officially focusing on its commitment to quality and revolution.
“Riot Energy differentiated itself with the high quality and great ingredients younger audiences are seeking,” said Sierra Nevada CEO and President Jeff White. “For 42 years, we’ve built our business on our commitment to quality. We are uniquely situated to provide a springboard of growth for Riot Energy to be more competitive in the space.”
Riot uses real fruit to flavor its energy drinks. The organic, plant-based energy comes from a combination of natural caffeine and L-Theanine and clocks in at 200% a person’s daily value of B12. This extends energy levels and helps with focus. It also fuels personal performance without jitters, spikes or crashes. The drinks have no added sugar, artificial sweeteners or unrecognizable ingredients.
Riot drinks can be found all over the United States in over 7,000 stores including Whole Foods, Kroger, Walmart, Costco and online.
