Justice Thomas? More like ill repute

-

A commenter suggests we accept that Clarence — —no relation to the angel (“angle” to some of you) from “It's a Wonderful Life”— Thomas' hardscrabble upbringing justifies his accepting blatantly improper gifts worth millions of dollars from his good `friend' Harlan Crow. If these involved a liberal Justice, I'm pretty sure we'd have heard them called what they are: bribes. You gotta love the double-standard of conservatives. President Obama had a tough upbringing but didn't take bribes from the 1 percent.

It's very curious that these gifts started only after Thomas was on the court and cases weren't going the way Harlan Crow wished. And we're to believe that these millions didn't impact Thomas' votes on cases concerning Harlan Crow's business, political and personal interests. LOL!

Some people are easily fooled; some rationalize; and some dissemble. Fortunately, most rational people would consider it either highly irregular, totally improper or downright criminal. Hiding behind there not being a defined Code of Honor for the SCOTUS doesn't help. Are we to believe a justice self=proclaimed Constitutional textualist misunderstood the text in a DOJ financial disclosure form? Uh, no.

Just lump his possible criminality in the same group with the other unqualified Heritage Foundation SCOTUS nominees who perjured themselves during their confirmation hearings, proclaiming their adherence to precedent, then quickly ignoring precedent; voting either according to religious beliefs or perhaps as their `vacation-friend/education-funder desires.

Show me a Republican that isn't either a liar, traitor, grifter (e.g. LaMafia & farm subsidies).
