Dale Edward Dunlap was born July 31, 1932 in Hammond, Indiana and passed at 91 on January 28, 2024 in Chico, Ca. Dale’s parents, Howard and Evelyn Dunlap moved their family to Burbank, Ca. in 1936. Dale was a resident of Paradise, Ca. for 48 yrs. and knew no strangers serving the community with his "Dales Firewood" business. He loved all sports and in 1950 played baseball, and basketball, on Letterman’s Club, and football at John Burroughs High in Burbank, Ca. Dale served in the U.S. Navy from 1952- 54 and was on the USS. DEHAVEN during the Korean War. Dale married his High School sweetheart, Patsy L. Prince on August 2, 1952 and he graduated from Fresno State University in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultur­e. in 1958, Dale and his family moved to Williams, Ca. where he lived his dream as a Farmer for 18 yrs, and owned crop seed company. He loved playing sports and was a little league baseball coach. Dale played in the Senior Softball World Series in 1989 at Greensboro, N.C. Dale loved raising and racing his thoroughbr­ed race horses and restoring classic cars.

Dale is survived by his wife Pat Dunlap of 71 yrs. His sister Marilyn Patricia "Pat" Sorensen (Paul), sister Beverly Marlin, brother Robert "Bob" Dunlap (Soni), Dales children Mal Dunlap (Susan), Lyn Moore (Steve), Diana DeSpain (Michael), Dawn Swithenban­k (Nick). Dale is also survived by thirteen grandchild­ren and thirty-four great grandchild­ren.

Dale will be remembered as loving his family. He was a very friendly, calm and pleasant man who was easy going and lightheart­ed. He is now rejoicing in the presence of God and his heavenly family.

Graveside services will be February 9th at the Paradise Cemetery at 980 Elliott Rd., Paradise, Ca. at 11am.
