A great alternative to an expensive predator motion decoy is to use a motorized cat toy. Look for one that has a spinning antenna. Find a cheap model (Amazon has them from $5 to $15) and give it a personal touch. Paint it to match your environment, and replace the toy on the antenna with a dried wing or tail from local (and legal) prey birds. You can also use a bit of dried rabbit hide, but you’re better off selecting something flashy. These
DIY decoys aren’t as durable as a higher-end model, but they’ll get the job done.
