Katie Veazey re­cently left a se­cure, salaried job to pur­sue her own per­sonal train­ing and Cross­Fit coach­ing busi­ness. “It has been one of the most re­ward­ing de­ci­sions I have made, and I feel like I am fi­nally able to make an im­pact on oth­ers’ lives,” she says.

As for mod­el­ing for this pow­er­lift­ing ar­ti­cle — piece of cake. “I in­cor­po­rate Olympic lifts into my own work­outs all the time,” she says. “They are great re­gard­less if your goal is per­for­mance or aes­thet­ics, since they re­cruit so many mus­cles.” Some of her best lifts? “My cur­rent squat clean is 180 pounds, and my front squat is 210 pounds.”
