- Reiner

Olivia Reiner, the newest member of our Green Bay Packers reporting team, will bring an enhanced video and social-media focus to our award-winning coverage.

Reiner will join Tom Silverstein, Pete Dougherty, Ryan Wood and Jim Owczarski in covering the Packers for the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin and PackersNews.com.

One of Reiner’s goals will be to provide a higher level of video storytelling. She also will help identify practical opportunities among an array of digital and social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.

“Olivia will bring a new approach to this important, ever-evolving position,” said Green Bay Press-Gazette Sports Editor Stu Courtney. “She will use video and social media to broaden our Packers coverage and expand its reach.”

Reiner, who earned undergraduate and master’s degrees from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern, received the 2018 William C. Fyffe Award and the 2018 Gary Cummings Memorial Award, honors given to a Medill student who excels in broadcast journalism. Her work also has been nominated for a Chicago/Midwest National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences student award.

Reiner’s past work experience includes internships with the New York Islanders, The Players’ Tribune, NBC Sports Chicago, NBC Sports and WGEMTV in Quincy, Illinois.

Reiner also covered the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea as a freelance reporter. Her stories and photos appeared in print and online for The Philadelphia Inquirer and AM New York.
