Penny could be gaining in value in Seattle

- Charles Curtis For the Win USA TODAY NETWORK

Here’s a roundup of some of the fantasy football players you could be targeting ahead of Week 14.

Some of the names below might be taken already, but if not, there are a bunch of dudes who could change your fantasy fortunes this season. Let’s run through them, in no particular order.

1. Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny

Out of the muck that was the Seattle Seahawks running back situation — Alex Collins and DeeJay Dallas weren’t cutting it, so the team signed Adrian Peterson — is some intrigue about Rashaad Penny.

The former first-rounder — remember that? He was 27th overall in 2018! — got 10 carries and did more with them than Peterson (3.5 ypc vs. a paltry 1.5 for the future Hall of Famer, who did score on Sunday). He could get more work in the receiving game, too.

He’s worth picking up, but as long as Peterson is there, his upside is capped. But maybe Pete Carroll saw enough to tilt the workload.

2. Eagles RB Kenneth Gainwell

Sigh. Here we go again.

Miles Sanders has an ankle injury. Boston Scott is probably rostered at the moment. And Gainwell ended up with 12 carries for 54 yards and a touchdown, plus five catches for 33 yards against the Jets.

Hmm. If Sanders is out, his role could be bigger again. But Scott is there, too.

3. Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown

His first NFL touchdown was the game-winner for the hapless Lions, giving them their first win of the season.

More importantly, he saw 12 targets from Jared Goff and caught 10 of them. PPR leaguers, take note.

4. Vikings WR K.J. Osborn

Adam Thielen could be out due to an ankle injury, and that could mean more work for Osborn who had seven targets, four catches and a score in Week 13.

5. Falcons WR Russell Gage

Honestly, he’s been rostered on each of my many teams at least once this year

and maybe more.

But he’s basically the WR1 in Atlanta now, snagging at least five passes in each of his past three games including 11 for 130 yards on Sunday. If he’s available, go get him.

6. Dolphins WR DeVante Parker

He played in his first game since Halloween and had five catches for 62

yards. Jaylen Waddle is WR1 in Miami and Mike Gesicki will continue to get a lot of work. But if those two get a lot of defensive attention, there’s room for Parker to get some yardage.

7. Jets RB Tevin Coleman

He might have been snatched up last week, but if not? He had 77 yards on the ground. FLEX-worthy!
