It’s a clash of quarterback generations for the newest iteration of TNT’s “The Match,” the celebrity golf showcase that featured Aaron Rodgers competing against Tom Brady last year mere months after Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers toppled Rodgers’ Packers in the NFC title game.

This time around, Rodgers and Brady are teaming up to challenge Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen in an all-NFL battle, airing June 1 from Las Vegas.

Last summer, Bryson DeChambeau and Rodgers got the best of Phil Mickelson and Brady in Montana, 3 and 2. DeChambeau fell to Brooks Koepka in November at Wynn Golf Club on the Las Vegas Strip, 5 and 3, and the sixth installment of “The Match” will now return to Wynn, though this will be the first version of exhibition that doesn’t feature any PGA professionals.

TNT will televise the 12-hole event, with coverage beginning at 5:30 p.m. locally. Over the years, the event has raised money for various charitable organizations and donated 17 million meals to Feeding America.

The event promises unprecedented access, with open mics on all the players and communication between broadcast commentators and the players on the course. In the past, the broadcast crew has included Brewers broadcaster Brian Anderson.

Rodgers, an avid golfer, most recently took some swings at the Annexus Pro Am at TPC Scottsdale in advance of the Waste Management Phoenix Open in February.

Packers sign six, fill out coaching staff

Six Packers players signed their exclusive rights free-agent tenders Monday, the first day of the offseason program: linebacker Krys Barnes, tight end Dominique Dafney, center Jake Hanson, tackle Yosh Nijman, linebacker Randy Ramsey and receiver Malik Taylor.

The Packers also hired John Donovan as a senior analyst, filling the final opening on their coaching staff. Donovan will work with the Packers’ defense. He spent the last two years at the University of Washington, serving as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Dillon fires first pitch at Brewers game at American Family Field

Monday featured a lot of “Packer weather.” Snow.

Cold.

And more snow.

So it was only fitting that a member of the Green Bay Packers was on hand at American Family Field to throw out the first pitch.

Running back AJ Dillon toed the slab before the Milwaukee Brewers faced the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was pretty impressed with his stuff, too. “85 mph right over the plate !!! Let me get a 1 day contract@brewers,” he said afterward via Twitter.

Maybe it’s time for Matt LaFleur to draw up a Quadzilla option play.
