‘My Way’ pays homage to Sinatra’s music
Frank Sinatra affirmed that he lived his life his way in the song “My Way”.
But with a career that spanned more than 50 years, his way covered a lot of ground.
So does My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra, the musical revue MNM Theatre Company will open Friday at the Kravis Center’s Rinker Playhouse. The show features 56 songs from the 1,360 Sinatra recorded from 1939 to 1994. “He did an amazing range of material,” said Caryl Fantel, the show’s musical director and pianist.
In addition to “My Way,” there’s “All the Way,” “High Hopes,” “It Was a Very Good Year,” “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” “One for My Baby (and One More for the Road),” “That’s Life,” “The Lady is a Tramp” and “New York, New York.”
There’s no doubt Sinatra was one of the most beloved singers of the 20th century. But what made him so special?
