Painting could affect curb parking
Planned construction projects and traffic alerts from the Town of Palm Beach for the week starting Monday:
Curb painting: The improvements will be performed throughout town this week. Parking stalls might be blocked temporarily.
Undergrounding: Comcast will be installing lines around Caribbean, Arabian and Indian roads, as well as East Inlet Drive; Florida Power & Light Co. will work along East Inlet; drilling will occur on North Lake Way from Esplanade Way past Dolphin Road, while work will continue on Reef Road by North Lake Way.
Florida Public Utilities gas line replacements: Installation of gas service connections and road restoration will take place on North Lake Way between Onondaga and Mediterranean Road; Manana Lane between North Lake Way and North Ocean Boulevard; Debra Lane between North Lake Way and North Ocean Boulevard; and the 200 block of South County Road.
Royal Palm Way irrigation improvements: Work continues through the end of the month in the medians on Royal Palm Way from the Royal Park Bridge east to South Ocean Boulevard. No lane closures are anticipated.
Recreation Center construction: Be aware of large trucks leaving the site on westbound Royal Palm Way.
Streetlight installation: Florida Power and Light Co. contractors will doing installations on South Ocean Boulevard from Sloan’s Curve south to Lake Avenue. The contractor will be periodically closing the southbound lane of South Ocean Boulevard. Work also will begin on Onondaga Avenue north to East Inlet Drive. Work is expected to be completed by early October. The contractor will be periodically closing portions of North Ocean Boulevard, North Lake Way, East Inlet Drive and Onondaga Avenue.
Signal work: At the intersections of Cocoanut Row and Clarke Avenue and at Bradley Place and Sunrise Avenue, the improvement project continues. The contractor will be closing the west end of Clarke and Sunrise avenues to through traffic for foundation installation and installation of signal conduit. It also will close a lane on Bradley Place at Sunrise Avenue. Sidewalks will be closed during the construction.
Tree trimming: Coconut palm trimming will affect the following streets this week:
• Monday: 450 to 795 North County Road, Ocean Lane median, Casa Bendita median, Crescent Drive, and Wrightsman Park;
• Tuesday: 100-300 blocks of Seabreeze Avenue, 100 block of Peruvian Avenue, and the 100 block of Chilean Avenue;
• Wednesday: 100-400 blocks of Seaspray Avenue and the 400 block of Seabreaze Avenue.
Milling and resurfacing: There will be lane closures on Sunrise Avenue as the city of West Palm Beach completes a water-main project.
