Crowder, other incumbents do well in voting numbers

PARADISE >> On the fourth anniversar­y of Camp Fire, voters reelected Paradise Mayor Steve Crowder to the Paradise Town Council.

Crowder was elected to his first term two days before the Camp Fire and on Tuesday earned a second term by gaining nearly 50 percent of the vote against two other candidates of the ballots counted so far. The current Paradise mayor garnered 2,616 votes or 47.96 percent.

He leads two challenger­s who were vying for two seats on the council.

Ron Lassonde, who col lec t ed 1,692 votes or 31.02 percent of the vote, finished second while Stuart Lee Banister finished third with 1,146 votes, or 21.01 percent. The results have yet to be finalized.

Parks district

It was a good election day for the incumbents on the Paradise Recreation and Parks District board as all three of them look to be on their way to reelection.

Mary Bellefeuil­le leads the way with 4173 votes or 26.45% of the vote, while Steve Rodowick sits in second place with 3517 votes for 22.29%.

The third incumbent, Albert “Al” McGreehan, is in third place with 3,138 votes for 19.89%. Challenger Donna Yutzy is currently fourth with 1,828 votes or 11.59%.

Kathleen T. Hiatt is in fifth at 1,803 votes or 11.43% while William “Bill” H. Reeves was sixth with 1,318 votes or 8.35%.
