Another chance to dance: Stars of American Ballet
How does a ballet dancer spend his time off? Performing. Stars of American Ballet is a small touring group of dancers from New York City Ballet and other companies helmed by Daniel Ulbricht, a City Ballet principal. What it doesn’t offer are elaborate sets and a huge orchestra. What it does offer is a chance to see some of the leading dancers in the country up close. Two different programs feature classic works by Balanchine, as well as choreography by Ulysses Dove, Peter Martins, and Lynne Taylor-Corbett, among others. The company, presented by Performance Santa Fe, takes the stage at the Lensic Performing Arts Center (211 W. San Francisco St.) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12, and Thursday, Aug. 13. Tickets, $27 to $100, are available by calling 505-988-1234 and from www.ticketssantafe.org and www.performancesantafe.org.
