A favorite holiday tradition for many Santa Feans is the annual Christmas presentation by the Santa Fe Pro Musica Baroque Ensemble at the historic Loretto Chapel (207 Old Santa Fe Trail). Mezzo-sopranos Deborah Domanski and Drea Pressley take turns in the solo spotlight from one performance to the next; you can learn in advance which singer is scheduled for which performance by consulting wwww.santafepromusica.com. They’re joined in each concert by Pro Musica’s instrumentalists, playing on modern instruments. Performances take place each evening at 6 and 8 p.m., from Saturday, Dec. 19, through Thursday, Dec. 24. This year’s installment of “A Baroque Christmas” includes Handel’s Concerto Grosso in D major (Op. 6, No. 5), Vivaldi’s motet “Longe mala, umbrae, terrores,” selections by Johann Christian Bach, and such ancient carols as “Als I Lay on Yoolis Night” and the Wexford Carol. Tickets ($20-$69, with a $5 surcharge on Christmas Eve) can be — indeed, must be — purchased through Tickets Santa Fe at the Lensic (505-988-1234; www.ticketssantafe.org) or directly through the Pro Musica box office (505-988-4640, Ext. 1000). — James M.
