From pi­ano to punk: Thollem’s Elec­tric Con­flu­ence

An­other crazy-cre­ative mu­si­cian is com­ing to Santa Fe! Thollem, a na­tive of the San Fran­cisco Bay Area, has amassed a gi­gan­tic re­sumé in mul­ti­ple gen­res, both in solo projects and with hun­dreds of mu­si­cal col­lab­o­ra­tors, among them guitarist Nels Cline, per­cus­sion­ist Tim Barnes, cor­netist Rob Mazurek, and vi­o­lin­ist Tracy Sil­ver­man. Thollem is known, ac­cord­ing to his bi­og­ra­phy, as “an acous­tic pi­ano player in the free jazz and post-classical worlds, as a soloist as well as the lead vo­cal­ist for the Ital­ian agit-punk band Tsig­oti and as an elec­tronic key­boardist through a mul­ti­tude of projects in­clud­ing Tech­ni­color Grey Zone.” The his­toric San Miguel Chapel (401 Old Santa Fe Trail) hosts Thollem’s Elec­tric Con­flu­ence at 7:30 p.m. Satur­day, Sept. 15.
