The Short Order

Pasatiempo - - AMUSE-BOUCHE -

Tucked away in the building that used to be home to Back Street Bistro, Café Mimosa is a good choice for a quiet, affordable, and tasty brunch. The menu, devised by an experienced chef named Alex Hadidi, offers an eclectic assortment of egg dishes, sandwiches and salads, and entrees. The prices are reasonable — most menu items fall in the $10 to $13 range — and it’s clear that the staff here is working hard to find fresh, quality ingredients. A successful interior renovation has also created a pleasant, airy space where you can hear yourself talk. Recommended: Artichoke-mushroom bisque, Green Eggs & Ham, Samantha’s smoked salmon Benedict, apple strudel.
