Autry Macias: Barril de Amor 2018, distressed, hammered tin with enamel paint

Good Folk, 141 Lincoln Ave., 505-983-1660 Folk artist, sign-maker, and muralist Autry Macias’ exhibition Santos del Desierto opens on Friday, Oct. 26. Her tin sculptures reflect the regional religious iconography of Mexican and New Mexican folk art traditions as well as the iconic symbolism and fauna of the Southwestern desert. Macias gives her wall hangings a twist by adding enamel auto paints, courtesy of her husband Vic, who works with lowriders. The reception is at 5 p.m.
