Aaron Harrington: Instant Foil Portrait 2018, interactive installation
Museum of Interactive Art at Shidoni, 1508 Bishops Lodge Road, Tesuque, 505-988-8001 Local artist Aaron Harrington remembers the admonition that art should not be touched. He challenges that notion with his preview exhibition at the new Museum of Interactive Art, where visitors are not only invited to touch the art but move it and change it. Located in the former foundry at the Shidoni Gallery and Sculpture Garden, the museum offers a curved mirror that creates 3D reflections, a table of spinning magnets, instant aluminum foil portraits, a poetry-generating Poetree with flippable words on metal vines, and more. The preview is a 500-square-foot exhibit offering a taste of the forthcoming full-size museum. It opens Saturday, Nov. 17, at 9 a.m. Admission is $5. Kids five and under are free.
