El Zaguán, 545 Canyon Road, 505-983-2567 The Historic Santa Fe Foundation presents photographer Frank Blazquez’s Barrios de Nuevo Mexico: Southwest Stories of Vindication, an exhibit of portraits from New Mexico’s marginalized communities. Blazquez is an Albuquerquebased artist, writer, and filmmaker. He started the Barrios de Nuevo Mexico project in 2016 and has since gained international recognition for the series with recent articles in The Guardian and VICE México. “They are an attempt to capture an authentic New Mexican love story,” Blazquez told The Guardian in November. “The self-punishment, anxiety, and beauty come from a place that is all too familiar for those living in this Land of Enchantment.” The opening reception is at 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11.
