Exhibitionism
McLarry Fine Art, 225 Canyon Road, 505-988-1161, mclarryfineart.com The light-saturated landscapes of painter Dix Baines combine bold brushwork and vibrant color to capture vistas, villages scenes, adobe architecture, and more. Awash in golden tones of sunlight, his visions of the American West reflect the enchanting allure of its canyons and river lands. Once known for close-up rendering of fish, Baines, who’s an avid fly fisherman, now works with a broad range of subject matter. Within the West, an exhibition of his new work, opens with a 5 p.m. reception on Friday, Sept. 13. The show is on view through Sept. 26.
