Route 66 history talk at the Santa Fe Library Main Branch

- — B.S.

When Ana Pacheco delivers a talk at Santa Fe Library about the history of Route 66, she’ll be standing near where the storied road once passed through the city.

While Route 66 eventually bypassed the state capital, it’s a permanent part of Santa Fe lore. It’s among the topics Pacheco, the city historian from 2015 to 2017, visits during monthly history talks at the library.

Pacheco has written eight books about New Mexico history and was the founding publisher and editor of La Herencia, a quarterly magazine on New Mexico history that existed from 1994 through 2009.
