1959 A double no-hitter involving four pitchers resulted in a seven-inning stalemate as the German Club and Galego Oil battled to a 0-0 deadlock in the National Division of the Darlington Little League. Pete Giard hurled the first six innings, striking out 12 and walking two while Bob MacQueen worked the seventh, giving up one hit and fanning one for the German Club. Larry Garabedian and Dick Jackson toed the rubber for Galego with Garabedian whiffing seven and walking four in six frames and Jackson fanning one and issuing one free pass in the final inning.
1969 Bob Asselin fired a no-hitter and struck out 10 and Jerry Asselin’s sixth inning double scored the winning run as the Sulkies nipped the Tigers 1-0 in the Pee Wee A Division of the Pawtucket Boys’ Club-Recreation Department Baseball League. In other Pee Wee A play, Norm Scherza rapped a double and three singles and Russ Martin cracked a triple and a single to pace the Whiz Kids past the Aces 13-6. Harry Laberge spun a four-hitter and fanned 11 in pacing the Saints to a 4-0 blanking over the Triplets.
1979 Dan Hodnett belted a home run, a triple and a single to carry the First & Last Chance Saloon to a 13-8 win over the CC Club in a Pawtucket Twilight Softball League tilt. In other league play, Mike Clynes ripped a circuit clout and two singles and Gary Rocha and Dave Joyal pounded three hits apiece as the Royals outlasted R. I. Lithograph 17-16 in a slugfest. Richard Grybbs belted a grand slam and Paul Labonte drove in four runs with three hits for the losers.
