City offers late night hours for Board of Canvassers

Pawtucket Times - - BLACKSTONE VALLEY -

On Thursday, Oct. 18, Pawtucket City Hall will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. as part of its monthly “Late Night Hours.”

The Board of Canvassers will also be open allowing Pawtucket voters who may not be able to make it to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 6 to come to City Hall and vote an emergency ballot. Emergency ballots are the same ballots used at the polls on Election Day and will be sent to the RI Board of Elections to be counted along with all ballots on Nov. 6.

There are four categories in which you may be eligible to vote an emergency ballot:

1. You are incapacitated to such an extent that it would be an undue hardship to vote at the polls because of illness or disability.

2. You will be confined to a hospital, convalescent home, nursing home, rest home or similar institution in the State of Rhode Island.

3. You are employed or you are a spouse of someone in service with military operations.

4. You may not be able to vote at you polling place on the day of the election.

Emergency ballots will also be available from October 17, 2018 until November 5, 2018 at the Board of Canvassers during normal business hours – 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Pawtucket voters with questions can call the Board of Canvassers at 722-1637.
