1950 Vin Bren­nan and Bob Coelho did most of the re­bound

ing and scor­ing as Pawtucket Vo­ca­tional opened its hoop sea­son aus­pi­ciously by down­ing Blackstone High 38-31. Bren­nan and Coelho cap­tured team-high hon­ors with 11 points apiece. Walt Ar­cham­bault, Allen Ash­worth and Dave Silva also turned in fine per­for­mances for coach Ted McCon­non’s young Vokes who will com­pete this sea­son for the first time in the In­ter­scholas­tic League. 1960 Tol­man bas­ket­ball coach Ted McCon­non, who lost last

year’s five starters due to grad­u­a­tion, will se­lect his reg­u­lars from among 6-0 Bob John­son, 6-0 Mike Smith, 6-0 Cliff Noiseux, 5-8 Bob Ban­croft, 5-11 Vic Ven­tura, 5-9 Ed (Sugar) Ad­di­son and 5-8 Mike Mauri­cio. Other can­di­dates are ju­niors Denny Lucier and Al Nixon and sopho­more Al Palagi.

1970 Harry Asquith, Gary Stott and Brad Seaward over­came

an 11-point deficit as Lin­coln forced an over­time ses­sion with a fourth quar­ter come­back to gain a 60-58 win over ri­val Cum­ber­land in an In­jury Fund opener for both quin­tets. Asquith and Stott hooped 16 points apiece with Seaward close be­hind with 15. Jim Healy pumped in 15 points, Kevin Cole­man canned 13 and Paul Pelo­quin col­lected 10 for the Clip­pers.
