1953

Big Stan Kieon and leadoff hitter Ron Thibodeau combined for seven RBI, seven hits and four runs scored to spark Pawtucket East to its third Eastern Division win in a row by walloping De La Salle Academy 15-3 at McCoy Stadium. Kieon paced the hit parade with three singles, a triple, four RBI and one run tallied, while Thibodeau banged out a single, a double, a triple, drove in three runs and scored three. Dave Klang won his second game for coach Alex Nahigian’s Redjackets allowing six hits, striking out 10 and walking three in a route-going nine-inning performanc­e.

1963

Tom Albright was victorious in three races and tied for first in another event to lead the Saint Raphael Academy outdoor track team to wins over De La Salle and Warren in a triangular meet at the CYO Field on Armistice Boulevard. Albright captured the 100-yard dash (10.9), 120 low hurdles (13.0) and 70 high hurdles (9.7) and tied in the high jump with a leap of five-feet, two-inches. SRA’s Steve Leavitt was a double winner taking the broad jump (20-3) and the 220 dash (24.7).

1973

Senior left-hander Ken Knapp fired a two-hitter, struck out 11, walked four, allowed one earned run, cracked three hits and drove in two tallies as Central Falls routed Hope 7-2 in a Metro Division encounter. The Warriors scored six runs in the sixth inning on a Ron Menard RBI triple, run-scoring singles by Knapp, Rich Routhier and Marc Sawyer and a two-run single by freshman Steve Long. Knapp’s RBI triple in the final frame concluded the scoring for CF.
