THE SPY Has GTAV for PC been delayed?

-

The Spy is a man of action and adventure. Only last night he was abseiling down an erupting volcano while fending off jumpsuited bad guys with just a samurai sword and two broken arms. But sometimes The Spy just likes to sit back, relax, and bring you the latest rumors and gossip from the world of videogames. Gossip such as the fact that Assassin’s Creed Unity creative director Alex Amancio has been telling people his new game is “the beginning of a new cycle of Assassin’s Creed games.” The sequel will apparently be a new “narrative start” and “the best entry point for the franchise since the first game.” The Spy always found the modern-day bits a tad ponderous, so this is good news. Let’s hope Desmond Miles never shows his face again.

The Spy could make Desmond Miles disappear. The Spy once made someone disappear for spilling a martini on his white dinner jacket. That unfortunate agent now spends his days breaking rocks in a North Korean labor camp. A strange chap, that one. Always asking for his drinks “shaken, not stirred” and making terrible jokes.

The Spy has heard rumblings that the long-awaited PC version of Grand Theft Auto V won’t be released until 2015. While the official release date for the Play Station 4 and Xbox One versions is ‘fall’ this year, it seems the PC edition might face delay. The Spy is sad. It’s been far too long since he last played a Grand

Theft Auto game on the PC. But The Spy is also glad to hear that the PC version will come with an array of visual improvements. The Spy knows all about delays. He once spent an entire week holed up in a tree in a Siberian forest fighting off bears. The Spy never complained. The Spy is a professional. Bio Ware is in the process of making a new Mass Effect. The Spy knows a few things about it, like the fact that it’ll be an entirely new story, and won’t have any returning characters. Also that it’ll likely be set in a different region of space. The Spy also suspects Bio Ware is worried about screwing up one of its beloved franchises, which is why it’s running a survey asking fans what they want from the sequel. The Spy once circulated a survey at Spy HQ to determine what snacks should be in the Spy Cafeteria’s vending machine. It caused something of a stir. One agent lost an eye when another used his wrist-mounted crossbow in anger. Unfortunate business.

The Spy is taking this next one with an entire pit of salt, but there are whispers that Arkane is creating a new Dishonored game, once again helmed by Harvey ‘ Deus Ex’ Smith. If Now Gamer’s mysterious ‘insider’ source is to be believed, one of the ideas is to have you play as Emily Kaldwin from the first game, not Corvo. An unrelated box image calling the game Darkness of Tyvia, however, is fake. The Spy knows. The latest game in the Doom series is being revealed exclusively at Quake Con, id Software’s annual conference in Dallas, Texas. Bethesda says the game will be shown to the public after the event, but you can bet something will leak before then. That’s the problem with everyone having a smartphone these days. “We’re going to have to prove that this is something that you have to pay attention to,” says Bethesda marketing VP Pete Hines. “We can’t just say it’s Doom, and of course you’re going to play it.”

The Spy has been taking covert photographs of things throughout his career. There isn’t an object on this planet that The Spy hasn’t hidden a camera in. He’s hidden cameras in cameras. “It’s been so long since the last Doom game,” says Hines. “We’re going in as if we need to prove ourselves all over again. We have no free passes. Nobody will assume this is going to be awesome.” Indeed, The Spy assumes nothing. Spy out.
