Robert Wayne Towe
Robert Wayne Towe, 63, died at home in Rogers on Jan. 6, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 28, 1948, in Springfield, Mo., to Robert Medley and Jesse Opal (Hull) Towe, the oldest of four children.
He grew up in the Mansfield area, graduating from Mansfield High School in 1966. A few weeks later, he started college at The School of the Ozarks (now The College of the Ozarks), where he met the love of his life, Nancy Gilson. After their marriage in 1967, Wayne transferred to Southwest Missouri State College (now Missouri State Univer- sity) where he completed his degree in agriculture in 1970. He spent most of his business career in the food production industry, working for Mid-america Dairymen, Kraft Foods, R.T. French, Speaco Foods, Nakano/mizkan America and Standard Register. He also completed a second bachelor’s degree in Personnel Management at SMSU in 1987.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Nancy; their three children and their families, Kristi Towe of Pea Ridge, and Sarah, Holly and Dan Allan of Kirkwood, Mo., and Mackenzie and Grant, and Terry Towe and Cammy Le of Oro Valley, Ariz., and Brian, Brandon, Bruce and Tiftany Pham and Riley Towe; his parents, Bob and Opal Towe of Mansfield, Mo.; two sisters, Cheryl and Tom Steftens of Kansas City, Mo., and Vicki Blankenship of Mansfield, Mo.; and one brother, Rick, and Kathy Towe of Straftord, Mo.; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, in-laws and friends, as well as a special sister-in-law, Cheryl Reid of Paris, Ark.
Visitation was be 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Rogers officiated by Pastor Randy Parks.
Interment was to be in Fairview Cemetery near Mansfield, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72764.
The family especially thanks the nurses at Northwest Medical Center-bentonville and Circle of Life Hospice for their amazing and loving care in Mr. Towe’s final days.
