New books on the shelves at library

- PEGGY MADDOX Pea Ridge Librarian

What a great start to a new year — beautiful weather and the Hogs winning the Cotton Bowl!

An unexpected volunteer showed up at the library last week and moved books on the shelves making more room. To take advantage of the space on the shelves, more books will be in place this week. A trip to Sam’s and Barnes and Noble on Saturday garnered a few new titles.

For the Harrison readers, “The Hollows Insider” will be available by the end of the week. This authoritative guide to the highly popular Hollows’ novels features in-depth, new information on the characters and settings, a mini-story, maps and illustrations and the author’s own thoughts on how she creates her magical stories. Investigative reporter Devin Crossman is on a mission to uncover all the secrets of bounty-hunting with Rachel Morgan and expose them to the world.

Tami Hoag’s “Down The Darkest Road” is the third in the installment in the series “Deeper Than The Dead” introduced her fans to a small California town that, in the mid-’80s, seemed as idyllic as any. The second in the series, “Secrets To The Grave,” was a particularly challenging mystery: The victim never existed. She hooks ever more readers into the meticulously crafted, alltoo-terrifying world of Oak Knoll, where the scariest secrets of all can be found in this latest book.

And, for all you James Patterson fans, “Kill Alex Cross” is the newest addition to the library’s ever expanding collection of Patterson works. Detective Alex Cross gets a presidential request to find his children.

And for the kids — “Dork Diaries No. 3, Tales from a Not-so-talented Pop Star.” I am now on a hunt for the first two diaries.
