This Saturday, the public is invited to attend a free health fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wishing Spring Gallery at the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and Mcnelly Road next to Walgreens.

President of the Village Art Club, Sandy Pogue, and owner of Lifetime Wellness, Dr. Phil Corbin, organized the event to provide helpful health information to the public and to introduce more people to the Wishing Spring Gallery. Wishing Spring Gallery is filled with arts and crafts made by local artists.

Corbin, who is a chiropractor and health coach, will be scanning participants’ feet to show any imbalances. Correcting imbalances in the feet can correct imbalances throughout the body, Corbin said.

A representative with Visalus will provide nutritional consultations, while life-long weight loss skills will be taught by members of the grass-root organization, Take Shape for Life.

Incorporating pet health into the fair, Dr. Julia Gillespie of the Bella Vista Animal Hospital will help people understand how to keep their cats and dogs healthy. Vaccines, zoonotic diseases, obesity, arthritis, senior wellness and dental care are a few topics that will be covered, she said. Information packets will be provided to anyone who would like to take one home.

Margaret Christensen with the Schmieding Center for Senior Education will be handing out flyers regarding upcoming screenings and programs based out of the Bella Vista Health Resource Center.

The Bella Vista Health Resource Center is a place seniors can receive free health screenings, attend informative luncheons and learn about a variety of topics such as Medicare, VA benefits and fall risk assessments. Health screenings test memory, blood pressure, hearing and blood glucose levels. Like the screenings, the programs are free.

Christensen is also a board member of Village House, an non-profit adult day care, and will be handing out information about it as well. At Village House, seniors participate in games, music, crafts, exercise, field trips, birthday celebrations and educational pro-

Another retirement specialist, Corporate Financial Services, will be at the fair to provide information on retirement and administrative services.
