Jessie Jay Weaver, 69, of Tulsa, Okla., died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at his home. He was born Aug. 21, 1942, in Short, Okla., to Lee Monroe Weaver and Lucy Jane (Alverson) Weaver.

He was an avid sportsman and played basketball for the Pea Ridge Blackhawks. He graduated high school in Pea Ridge, Ark., and married Carol Sue Foster. They were married for 40 years. Of that union two children were born: a daughter, Becky, and a son, Michael.

Weaver worked at Daisy BB before enlisting in the Army. After leaving northwest Arkansas, he worked as a computer analyst for Rockwell, Boeing and Spirit Aerosystem­s before his retirement in 2007.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Lucy Weaver; a brother, Virgil Weaver; and sister-in-law, Helen Weaver; three sisters, 3-month-old Mary Weaver, Minnie Newman and Verbie Messick.

Survivors include Brenda S. Weaver and daughter, Ashley Lee of the home; his two children, with Carol Sue Foster Weaver: Becky and Michael, and Michael’s two boys, Christophe­r and Caleb Weaver, all of Tulsa; his two brothers, Bill and Clara Weaver and Vernon and Harriet Weaver, both of Rogers, Ark.; his sister, Jewel Partain of Westville, Okla.; and many, many nephews and nieces, as well as his lifelong friend, Jimmy Beaver.

Visitation was 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Add’vantage Funeral Service, 9761 E. 31st St., Tulsa, Okla.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Add’vantage Funeral Service.

Interment will be at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 75 North at the 126th Street exit.
