Pea Ridge Times

Dear Graduates,

-

It has been my privilege to serve as superintendent for your senior year. You have distinguished yourselves in many ways. Scholarships have increased, which is one indication that academic achievement has improved. I have been impressed with the many awards in vocational, fine arts, and athletic competitions throughout this year. I have also been pleased to learn about many of you involved in worthwhile service projects in school, church, and community.

Pea Ridge School District has had an unusual number of outside evaluations this year by state officials and accreditation agencies. In every case, at the exit conference, I have received compliments about our students. I have hosted college professor friends from more than one university. Again, they have told me they were impressed with you.

I have enjoying attending many student events this year where I have observed high quality participation in clubs, organizations, and on the playing fields. Without question, you have benefitted from excellent teachers, coaches, sponsors, and administrators; caring parents and grandparents; and a supportive community. They have given of themselves so that you can succeed.

The future can be bright if you resolve to be a lifelong learner, maintain self-control, practice respect for others, have a mindset of service to others, and cherish wholesome values. As a class, you have the potential to do great things. I congratulate you and wish you the best.

Respectfully, ROLAND M. SMITH Superintendent of School Pea Ridge, Arkansas
