Billie Jean Dart, 81, of Cassville, Mo., died Sun- day, June 17, 2012, in her home. She was born Nov. 28, 1930, in Washburn, Mo., to Hazel (Anderson) Bishop and Guy P. Church.

She grew up and received her education at Washburn, graduating with the class of 1948.

She was a licensed beautician, but most of her life was spent raising her family, raising chickens and helping her husband with their cattle.

One of her favorite pastimes was making quilts. She also loved music, attending music parties on the weekends. She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church at Washburn.

On Aug. 5, 1956, she was united in marriage to Bernard Gordon Dart, who preceded her in death on June 25, 2010. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Hazel and Jack Bishop; and her father, Guy P. Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Weathers and husband, Johnny, of Washburn, Mo., Linda McBride and husband, Jerry, of Cassville, Mo., and Janet Ballard and husband, Roger, of Cassville, Mo.; two brothers, Wendell Bishop and wife, Jan, of Seligman, Mo., and Russell Bishop and wife, Eleanor, of Seligman, Mo.; two sisters, Jackie Dart and husband, Gaylord, of Garfield, and Patsy Richardvil­le and husband, Gary, of Tulsa, Okla.; six grandchild­ren; six great- grandchild­ren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were at noon June 20, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, with pastors Ronnie Black and Russell Bishop officiatin­g.

Burial was in Corinth Cemetery, Cassville.

Contributi­ons may be made to Hospice Compassus or Washburn United Methodist Church in memory of Billie.
