Pea Ridge Police Chief Art Croswell announced he would host a Neighborhood Crime Watch organizational meeting.
Pea Ridge School superintendent Marvin Higginbottom accepted a $10,000 check from Bank of Pea Ridge president Richard Kimberlin. An anonymous donor contributed the money to the school district and asked the bank to make the exchange. Higginbottom said that the money will be used, among other things, to finish paying for new classroom air-conditioners.
Jeremy Nesbitt, son of Tom and Sherry Nesbitt of Pea Ridge, looked into the bottom of his empty Dr. Pepper can and discovered that he had won a year’s supply of Dr. Pepper.

Rick Webb, a former member of the Pea Ridge City Council, edged out John Sainsbury in the race for Position 2 on the Pea Ridge School Board.
Blood-thirsty dogs attacked and mutilated 20 sheep and lambs — including the Benton County Fair’s reserve grand champion market lamb — at an Avoca farm.
The third annual Givens Place Block Party was held at the home of Lloyd and Carol Wilcox on John W. Montgomery Circle in Pea Ridge. Sixteen families gathered together for a potluck picnic.
