Cheer squad wins again

The Pea Ridge Jr. and Sr. High cheer teams both earned wins in competitio­n Saturday, Dec. 1, at Harbor High School.

The senior high team won First Place in 1-4A coed. The stunt group of Haley Roughton, Reaganne Rhine, Brittney Thomas, Madison Rose and Kasey Smith placed sixth in their division, while the stunt group of Ty Conner, Chattin Cato and Kelly Green placed second in Coed Stunts. The senior high team won the Philanthro­py Award for their donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, contributi­ng more than $400 raised by donations from the high school students, parents and staff.

The jr. high team won third place in their division. The stunt team of Rebecca Woods, Haley Higgins, Marlana Coupland, Shelby Morgan and Nicole Henson placed fifth in their division. The team won the Philanthro­py Award for their donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, donating $89 through donations from junior high students, parents and staff.

At Lake Hamilton

The Blackhawk Sr. High Cheer squad won first place (4A co-ed) in competitio­n at Lake Hamilton High School in Hot Springs on Nov. 17. They earned overall against all divisions through 7A. Individual stunt group competitio­n also went well as the stunt group of Haley Roughton, Reaganne Rhine, Brittney Thomas, Kasey Smith and Madison Rose won first place in all girl division and Ty Conner, Kelly Green and Chattin Cato took first place in the Co-ed stunt division.

The squad completed their regular competitio­n season Dec. 1 at Har-Ber High.

To Hot Springs

The squad is scheduled to compete in state Dec. 15 in Hot Springs defending their state title from a year ago.

A large percentage of their score at state comes from crowd participat­ion, so anyone wanting to support the squad is invited to state competitio­n. Informatio­n on the competitio­n is available through the high school and coach Jamie Bunting.

“Hank the Hawk” wins competitio­n

Heather Kremer, aka “Hank the Hawk,” competed at the Gentry Cheer Classic on Monday, Dec. 3. She placed first in her division.
