Cocoa for a Cause
Cocoa for a Cause will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Pea Ridge Heritage Building (next to Intermediate School). Beta Alpha will hold a membership drive. There will be a variety of cocoa and snacks to be tasted while information is shared about the organization.
Join Beta Alpha with helping the community and St. Jude. This is a free event.
Beta Alpha sponsors BINGO
Beta Alpha will host BINGO from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Pea Ridge Heritage Building (next to Intermediate School). Cost is 50 cents per card. There will be 50/50 drawing and concessions. All proceeds go to Beta Alpha and will be used throughout the community.
Soup Supper slated
The Pea Ridge Historical Society is having a Homemade Soup Supper from 5-7 p.m. on Feb. 16 at the School Heritage Building, the former school lunch room and later used as the S.E.E.K building. There has not been a lunch served there since it closed.
Members of the Historical Society are trying to pay off the loan for the renovation done last fall on the outside of the building.
There will be various homemade soups, cornbread, desserts and drinks for $6. Carry out quarts of soup can be bought for $3. All proceeds go to the Heritage Building renovation project.
Chili supper/ dessert auction
The Pea Ridge High School Drama Department is hosting a chili supper, dessert auction and several short skits at the cafeteria from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18. Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children 16 and under. Tickets can be pre-purchased at PRHS basketball games or at the door. All are invited, and all proceeds will benefit Austin Bolek’s family.
The Drama Department has also placed donation cans around local businesses in Pea Ridge.
Donations can also be sent via check to Blackhawks for Bolek and mailed to: PRHS c/o Crystal Mar- quez, 781 W. Pickens Rd., Pea Ridge, AR 72751.
Special Blackhawk items for sale
Special Blackhawk items for sale —the alumni composite book showing photographs of graduating classes from 1946 to 2012 and the Blackhawk chair are $50; or two books for $40. Individually, chairs sell for $30 and books for $25.
They may be purchased at Arvest Bank, Community First Bank, Silver Moon Flea Market or Pea Ridge Times office. Proceeds go to the Pea Ridge Alumni Association.
Museum and Heritage Building hours
The Pea Ridge Museum and School Heritage Building will be open by appointment only through the month of February. Appointments may be made by calling 586-5574, 451-9219 or 451-8256.
