Curves introduces new weight-loss program

- By OLIVIA CARR

Since its Northwest Arkansas introduction in 1996, the concept of “fast fitness” has proved as popular here as it is worldwide.

Known for its women-only, 30-minute circuit training, Curves has shifted its focus to a totalbody wellness plan.

The Curves Complete program is a comprehensive weight-loss plan that includes motivation, diet and exercise.

Curves Complete includes personalized meal plans, portion control and one-on-one support from a Curves Complete certified coach. The coaches have completed a program designed by Cleveland Clinic in nutrition, exercise kinesiology and behavior modification.

Through the years, Curves has remained dedicated to offering the world’s most-studied and well-researched diet and exercise program, committing $6 million to Baylor and Texas A&M universities in unrestricted grants to study the efficacy of its programs.

Curves also has invested millions in technology for the benefit of its members, including CurvesSmart, a state-of-the-art computerized personal coaching system incorporated into the circuit to keep members continually challenged and motivated.

The relatively new Curves Complete program combines diet, exercise and motivation in a 90day weight-loss plan. Members gain online access to diet plans, menus, recipes, shopping lists and exercises. Members can also track their progress, create menus and connect with others online. New diet plans are available.

Curves is a also a Silver Sneaker provider, which means women with certain Medicare coverage and Medicare supplement carriers can join at no cost to them.

More information about Curves is available online at curves.com. The Curves location in Bella Vista can be reached at (479) 855-9800.
